Joel & Megan High Church Brisbane Fortitude Valley – Porsche Wedding

Megan and Joel recently married at High Church Brisbane Fortitude Valley. It was a glorious summer’s day, the weather was surprisingly pleasant. This was our very first wedding at High Church working with Alison Cook Photography, Wedding Photography. High Church is such a funky venue and so central to everything in Brisbane. Which is one of the reasons they chose this venue for their wedding.

High Church Brisbane was perfect for Megan and Joel’s wedding because they were able to have their ceremony and reception all in the one location.  And High Church can even provide catering, styling and your own wedding coordinator if required.

This made planning a wedding so much easier for Megan and Joel because they planned their wedding from afar! And by afar, I mean 1400km away in far north Queensland. I can only imagine how difficult organising a long-distance wedding would be! So, I asked Megan to share some of her tips with other couples.

Wedding Tips – High Church Brisbane

This is such great advice! I actually advise my couples the same! Make lists and check them off as you go. It not only helps you prepare for the big day, but it actually feels very satisfying to cross things off a big list. It’s wedding therapy!

And always check vendors’ Google reviews. Because unlike a testimonial page on a website that, let’s face it, anyone could’ve written, Google reviews aren’t moderated. People can write anything and the vendor cannot change it.

High Church Brisbane – Old Meets New

So, if you’re looking for a venue that offers wedding and reception, High Church is perfect! And if you love a unique wedding venue with a bit of old-world charm, then High Church Brisbane is the venue for you! High Church is located at 385 Brunswick Street Fortitude Valley and is a beautifully renovated church. It offers couples a little bit of history mixed with stylish modern features.

And not only that, it’s centrally located to some amazing photography locations. It’s just a short walk up the road to have Brisbane’s iconic Story Bridge in the background of your wedding photos. And if you’re a fan of Brisbane’s landmarks, the Brisbane Powerhouse is just a quick 10-minute drive. The Powerhouse is a popular arts and cultural hub in a refurbished power station in the Brisbane suburb of New Farm. The venue offers many free events, art displays and artistic performances. And the building itself features very cool urban industrial walls, exposed brickworks and funky art. It makes a fantastic backdrop for your wedding photos!

And to mix things up, right next door is Newfarm Park which offers beautiful gardens and views of the Brisbane River. There’s no shortage of wedding photography locations! Just check out Megan and Joel’s wedding photos to see for yourself!
