St Mary’s Kangaroo Point

St Mary’s Church is situated high on the Kangaroo Point cliffs is heritage listed and built in 1873, its pipe organ is the oldest in Queensland. The church has beautiful stained glass windows, timber ceilings and solid stone construction. St Mary’s was patronized by the early governors when they resided in the Old Government House in George Street. It has always been the Navel Chapel in Queensland and was connected by stairs to the historic Navel stores below. There are a number of naval memorial plaques throughout the beautiful established garden.
